Garrett William is born at 11:41 PM.
I was planning on breastfeeding, but Mr. Hungry just couldn't get
satisfied, so we ended up supplementing with formula. We started
with Enfamil LIPIL. So as not to introduce any confusion, we used
a finger syringe to feed him. It was like feeding a little wounded
bird! He couldn't seem to settle down in the bassinette, so I
ended up sleeping with him in my arms.

Garrett seemed to have develop a rash, so he
was switched to Prosobee formula. He seemed to be pretty
comfortable during the day.

The pediatrician commented today that
Garrett looked a little yellow and might have jaundice.
Coming home
day! Well, actually it was coming home "night". We didn't
leave the hospital until after midnight. So our first night at
home was a pretty short one. Leaning over our bed ( a raised rice
bed ) to reach the bassinette was too uncomfortable for me, so we ended
up putting Garrett between us in the bed. We are now using a
co-sleeping device called a Snuggle Nest that keeps him safe.

Garrett has not been having bowel movements
( aka BM's ), which I thought was contributing to the jaundice.
We
decided that his rash was not due to the formula, as it went away, so we put him back on
Enfamil LIPIL. |
