Garrett is showing more signs of jaundice.  He is looking pretty yellow, has been sleeping a lot and has not been nursing well, so we had to take him to the emergency room.  The doctor referred to him as a "light bulb" and guessed that his bilirubin level was 15-17, but it only ended up being 10.5.  ( 11 or higher = jaundice )

We took Garrett to have his bilirubin level retested today.  It was 8.5, so he didn't have jaundice.  We assumed it must have peaked on Saturday when we went in.

Garrett had his first "real" BM today, so hopefully that function is going to work better now.

Garrett's first checkup was today.  He weighs 7 lbs. 10 oz. and is 20 1/2 inches long.  The dr. held him on her should and he lifted his head up.  She was shocked!

Garrett is sleeping about 2.5 hours between feedings.  He is nursing and getting about 2 ounces of formula.  Today he started nursing and feeding what seemed like all day long.  He acted like he was hungry all evening.  I nursed him and bottle-fed him twice in a couple hours time.  He was very restless and acted like he still wasn't full.  He ended up having a good night though.

Garrett is having a good day, sleeping mostly.  He ate and ate again in the evening though.  Night was ok.
