This is extremely useful. I simply assumed that my LO was allergic to only soy and milk. I never considered anything else. These links have been very useful and has given me other things to work with and consider.

I hope these links are also helpful to the original poster.

I keep hearing that reflux is not as prevalent in breastfed babies as in formula-fed babies (although I don't quite see why this is necessarily true). I see that you breastfed your first baby and he had reflux. I am assuming that even with the elimination diet he still suffered from reflux until he was 12 months?

By the way, I am in the UK so that might be why we have infant calpol and you guys may have some other brand?

Edited by Sapphire - Yesterday at 11:07am

They all swore blind that there is no soy or milk in their product. The canned salmon ingredients on the tin said "salmon, salt". Not sure they listed all the ingredients as there was water in there and that was not listed.

I thought it was the popcorn (I bought it at the movies) but they told me that the butter salt that's used is formulated without soy and that the vegetable oil used is sunflower oil.

I am convinced it must be something in one of these but which and what I do not know. His poop was very green and jelly like plus his cheeks and eyelids were very pink. These suggests allergy, I think.

As everyone is claiming their product does not contain soy or milk, it has been so heartbreaking, confusing, and disappointing as I thought we had it under control. I live in total anxiety wondering is he getting better or am I hoping against hope. One thing I do know is that when I did the TED for two weeks his symptoms were dramatically reduced and he did not need any meds during that time.

Perhaps he is allergic to something else (as well as milk and soy)? Honestly I am so confused, exhausted and do not know what to think or do. Quick thought though, could cross contamination be an issue? Would it show up in my breastmilk and affect him?

Let me add here that this forum has been so very helpful. Thanks to it I started the TED.

Edited by Sapphire - Yesterday at 5:21am

When it comes to eliminating foods, or adding back in I think a month is a better rule of thumb.

With the rice cereal, check the brand you are using. gerber has soy and milk in it, they are good at calling them by other names...beechnut and earths best are the best to use if you are eliminating dairy etc.
It looks a bit like a hammock.) It looks terribly uncomfortable and a little dangerous, so we have only tried it twice.

Do you think we should ask to have a scope done? I'm so new to this and I don't want to subject her to a gazillion tests or meds, but I don't want to just let her keep being miserable, especially if there has been damage done or she has a hernia. Oh the decisions of parenting!

Again, thank you SO much. This site has been extremely helpful, and it is wonderful seeing so many parents truly trying to help each other, not argue about parenting styles. I'm so glad I found this site!
