![]() Topic: Question about insurancePosted: 05 January 2009 at 9:46pm |

We are going to Boston Hospital and I know my current insurance plan is goign to give me a hard time. My pediatrician even suggested I change insurance before I go. So I am looking at changing insurance to an EPO that has a nationwide network. I am looking at Blue Shield and I was wondering if anyone knows what I will have to go through to go out of the area. They have doctors all over, and Boston does take that insurance but I will be going out of my LOCAL network adn I can't get a straight answer on if I will be given a hard time. Any suggestions? |

did you get a refferal? if yes, call your case/policy manager from the Insurance company (you should have one). Call him/her and find out if it will cover or not. The people in Boston might need to get in touch with him/her as well to get the approval. If they give you a hard time, ask to speak with a supervisor or whoever can make final decisions, then explain your situation and if he/she is not helpful ask them to tell them specific reasons why they won't cover. if they say it is in your insert/insurance info package, ask him/her where exactly does it say that. Then read up and see if you can appeal it.
good luck!
