![]() Topic: refluxer? switch seats!!Posted: 16 June 2009 at 9:49pm |

For all of you with refluxers who cry the whole time in the car seat - I hope this helps. My little guy cried from a few days old til 6 weeks the whole time in the infant car seat. He was born in November so I didn't want to go without the infant carrier, but I switched him at 6 weeks to our Britax convertible, and bam! Instant happy baby. Seriously, no crying at all, that fast. The only problem was it was the middle of winter in Wisconsin and I am carrying a newborn around. I used my baby bjorn. I would turn around, reach over, pull him out, and slide him in it before we even opened the door.
I hope this helps some of you who are struggling. I have gotten so much help already on this board, I just wanted to offer the little bit that has helped me. Good luck!

yeah, the infant carrier had a different angle. even though both seats were fit correctly, the infant carrier has the baby slightly more reclined. i was told at the gi clinic that this is a common finding, and that some babies actually reflux more in the car - they are strapped down in a bad position.

I have an 8 week old who absolutely HATES the car seat! He literally starts foaming at the mouth when he is in it. By the time we get to where we are going he is drenched in sweat, foaming and screaming!
I sat him in our Britax marathon in the house and he started crying but I will have to give it a try in the car to see if it helps..I am desperate!
