I have a Bluebonnet calcium/magnesium/vit. D supplement that is labled as Milk-free.  Do you think that this means dairy-free?  It has soybean oil in it. What do you think? Safe?
Also, I really want to continue taking my DHA supplement.  It's a nordic naturals fish oil derived from sardines and anchovies.  Safe?

this was posted on page 6 of this very forum- it's about adding some nutrients to your diet- look for ones that are free of dairy and soy:

Walgreens brand prenatal vitamins "Finest Prenatal Complete"

Solgar Calcium Magnesium with Vitamin D.  "Free of yeast, wheat, soy, and dairy products and are formulated without the use of preservatives, artificial flavors or colors."

Country Life Milk-free Power-Dophilus.  "No: Yeast, wheat, soy, gluten, milk, salt, sugar, starch, preservatives or artificial color."  www.country-life.com.  Also found at Vitamin World stores.

this is from erintx:

Here's some info re: multivitamins & calcium:

The multivitamin is took is this: http://wholesalesupplementstore.com/daily-total-oneaday.html
They are vegetarian capsules & free of the 'biggies' (milk, soy, gluten, etc). I haven't had any issues w/ them.

The calcium I take is just the generic "calciumcitrate+" from my grocery store (or Target). The only thing about these is that one of the inactive ingredients is starch. SO, I didn't start these until recently when Evan started tolerating more foods (although I’m sure many babies could tolerate them fine).

Here's a suggestion for TED safe calcium supplement that a good friend suggested to me (& I think Dianne also took this):

Laura posted the info I used while on TED. I would guess the Bluebonnet is dairy-free if it's labeled milk-free. I think the soybean oil is safe. Most of the convenience foods have some soy oil in them & soy oil doesn't have any soy protein... most experts say that even soy allergic ppl can tolerant soy oil fine. AND, it's probably a very small amount in the supplement + it is getting filtered somewhat through breastmilk. Bottom line: safe probably ;).

The DHA options for myself & Evan that were derived from some kind of fish (like yours) I held off of until I could 'officially' add it in... eventually I was able to add in a DHA for myself & a fish oil for Evan (separately).

Hope that helps!
