I am sooooo excited!!LOL Since getting onto Neocate, Mckenzie is a different baby! She has gone from completely refusing to breast feed (or take a bottle of BM) to drinking 150mls at a time of Neocate - 5 or 6 times a day!!! She is so happy, giggling, smiling and putting on weight. It has been a rough few weeks with her milk refusal but life has just gotten better! I would read stories of people saying they had a new baby and I never thought I would get that! So relieved! Big%20smile

Thanks Rachel! I'm sure ypou're the one to ask and I posted this in MSPI section but I was wondering if you could help... Mckenzie never used to spit up on breast milk but she does at every feed (and often in between feeds) with Neocate. She is not bothered by it but it's messy! Do you know why this is the case? I was told because it is thinner that norma formulas, but so is breast milk ?! Is there anything, do you know, that can be used to thicken it that doesn't affect MSPI babies (with possible other allergies)? Thanks so much!

To be honest , I'm not sure!  The formula is thinner, similar to breast milk, and since she was fine with BM it would seem that the consistency of Neocate would be okay for her too.  It think it's probably unlikely that she's suddenly developed reflux.  Do you thin she been eating more than before, volume wise?

You could as your doctor about thickening the feeds, but I don't have any specific recommendations for you, I would just be really careful not to use anything that potentially had diary or soy because of her MSPI.

Oh my goodness!  I am so sorry for all the grammatical errors in my previous post!!  I had just spilled my drink on the desk and my middle son was talking to me all at the same time!  That's why I'm usually on later at night, a lot more peaceful then!

Thank you! Yes, I think that she is definitely drining more since being on Neocate - she finally has an appetite again. Hopefully it will settle down but I'll deal with it if it's the worst thing! ;)

if there is no pain w/ the spit up, then you have a 'happy spitter' and that's ok! when there is pain, that is when it is not ok.

You just need to make sure if she is taking anything all time. Not even single time she is without food. Every child want to play and be happy. Co be aware all time.
