| Topic: new here, about to have second upper GI

Hi; been lurking a few weeks as my olivia was pretty much born gagging, arching her back and refluxing since birth one month ago. Pedi at the hospital said it was normal (our dd1 was a nicu baby and we were really only allowed to see her for half hour increments so we didn't know what a newborn truly acted like).
My question; she had an upperGI and an u/s done at 2weeks and the only thing they saw was what the pedi and radiologist said was a 'mild' case of reflux. She was put on zantac (.25ml three times a day). I was told to try to keep her on her right side and burp her often. Now, after symptoms not really going away they want to repeat the upperGI. I am questioning whether this is the right direction and feel the pedi isn't listening to all of my concerns with her combination of symptoms.
*Failure to Thrive... she has gained 14oz and is 1oz over birth weight making her 8lbs5oz.
*She has orange/brown mucous poop and often diarreaha where it is just colored water. She goes from not pooping one week to six or more in a 2day period and then back to constipation.
*She cries. All.The.Time. She is often inconsolable. Pedi and family call it colic... but she seems to be in pain. Loses her voice every few days from this.
*Horrible gas. Both belching and farting. The farts are not just wind; they stink!
*She sleeps great if she is upright on her belly (holding her on my chest while I am sitting). If you lay her down she gags, spits up or projectile vomits on occassion, and sounds congested and wheezes.
She is breastfed. I wear her in a sling during the day and we cosleep at night. We take warm baths where I nurse her in the tub to soothe her on a nightly basis. The zantac seems to help for a few hours and then wears off.
I just don't want tests she doesn't need and am ready for answers. She seems to be in so much pain and DD1 pretty much hates me for allowing Olivia to monopolize my attention.
Thanks for reading and I hope to jump in and be able to get and give support and advice in the future.

Hi Brianna...I just registered here today and could have written your post three years ago with DD. Sorry you both are going through this. It was was worst time of my life. Have you noticed any changes yet?
Are you feeling more comfortable with the pediatrician? Have you tried an elimination diet? Just thought I'd say hi. Off to post my story of woe and ask a few questions. P.S. things got better for our daughter but not before I lost my mind and my hair turned grey;)
