How do you determine whether to start with just eliminating milk/soy or going all in with TED?

it's up to you...if you eliminate milk and soy (making sure to read ingredients for all proteins- including 'hidden') then it takes a good two to three weeks to get out of your system and it can take even longer for it to be out of baby's system...

then, if it's NOT the milk or soy, you might want to try eliminating other things- this makes the process of eliminating even longer...

for me, I 'just' did the TED to get it over with. I was DESPERATE. I really didn't think it was mspi, but I did the TED out of complete & utter desperation. It turns out that I did learn something from the TED: that my baby was sensitive to when I ate tomatoes, cirtus, eggplant and tuna. These are 'odd' things, but I did find that when I ate them my baby reacted (more reflux and more pain from reflux- there wasn't a 'diaper' reaction)...

Laura pretty much summed it up :) I started a TED diet after being dairy/soy free for 2 weeks with minimal improvement. I was able to determine that my LO was also reacting to eggs and tomatoes. He is now 19 months old and still BFing, and has outgrown his tomato sensitivity... unfortunately he still cannot handle dairy, soy, or eggs.

yes, when jonah was 12 months I couldn't take it anymore and ate pizza! he was fine, phew! so by that point I knew that tomatoes were ok & I most likely then tried citrus, eggplant & tuna...
I still cringe when I see him (he's now eight years old, lol!) drink orange juice, HA! he's fine!Smile
