   So we're only on day 6 or so of prevacid solutabs with Ezra.  We're going with Marci Kids dosaging, 7.5 milligrams 3 times per day, but it's almost impossible to get it into him on an empty stomach.  I understand how important this is, but with a two week old it's incredibly difficult.  

I'm wondering if someone can tell me about the marci-kids products that used to be available -are they still somewhere?  Does anyone have any caracream max left over that they would want to get rid of?  What are our other options?  Is zegerid something that we should consider using?

Also, what is zantac?  Is there anything that we should use in addition to the prevacid until it starts taking effect?  Any kind of antacid or something that gives more immediate relief?

	there's a link to the current products, the ones that used to be from marci-kids, they're now made by another company- same products, different names- look for the link here: Prevacid 101: scroll to the last page of this post, (it's actually also about other PPIs like prilosec, too) http://www.infantreflux.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1936&PN=0&TPN=1 zantac can be given too. it's a RX that even most peds will give. you must space it 4hrs from the prevacid. zantac is an acid neutralizer & PPIs (prevacid) actually turn off some of the pumps that make the acid...

	if you can't get a rx for zantac... otc zantac (like axid) comes in 75mgs. You can crush a 75mg Zantac (ranitidine) tablet. Put this in 10 mL of the Mylanta Cherry Supreme. Let the mixture sit for a few hours, shaking occasionally so that the pill dissolves entirely & shake before dosing. You do not have to keep it in the refrigerator. Give 2.5mL per dose, 2 times per day. I 'type out loud' to help understand it, lol. so the 10mls of liquid has 75mgs of the medicine zantac so 5mls of the liquid has 37.5mgs of the medicine zantac so 2.5mls of the liquid has 18.75mgs of the medicine zantac how much does baby weigh?
