We will be switching insurance providers soon to Blue Cross / Blue Shield. I've noticed on their formulary that they list Prevacid as a quantity limits drug. Do any of you have insurance coverage with this sort of limitation and can fill me in on what to expect? Our current provider (United Healthcare) covers the Prevacid solutabs no problem but we do have a hefty copay.

Hey Tiffany, I work for BCBS in Missouri. I don't work for that division for the company but I will check this out and see if I can get an answer. Hopefully somebody else can help to!!

our insurance said it had a limit, but it wasn't a problem for us.  i think that as long as your doctor is prescribing within the normal range, and the diagnosis is for gerd maintainence,(SP?) it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks guys, I am just hoping that they don't consider the 30 mg Seth gets to be excessive for his age. I plan to get his medicine refilled right before we switch plans just in case I do run into anything.
