I just finally talked to the pastor today about the people at the church's comments like "I will show you how to feed him" or "there is nothing wrong with him" or "he looks healthy to me" or my favorite "just stop going for weight checks". I explained to him that I was very hurt by the things that people have said to me about how there is nothing wrong with Isaac and that I need to stop taking him for weight checks and let him eat what he wants. The pastor kept saying he was sorry and that it saddens him that people are treating us like that. I told him that with everything going on I just feel so overwhelmed and to hear people be so non supportive at church is very disheartening. I just feel so much better after that conversation! I was really starting to think that maybe I was just oversensitive or something wink.gif He wanted to update on Isaac for the prayer chain but I requested not to do that right now b/c of the unwanted comments and he completely understood that and said he would keep Isaac in his prayers.

I'm glad you were able to get things off your chest, and that the Pastor was receptive and sympathetic.

Ditto- good for you- hopefully your pastor can do something to help the situation in a "covert" way- I find once people are reminded of things and if they are particulary empathetic (as I am sure a pastor should be) they can move things in subtle ways. Maybe a sermon about not being judgmental and not being a "know it all" is on the way next Sunday!!!!

BTW I looved the title- summed it up brillantly.

"Mean church situation" wouldn't you think that was an oxymoron (a bit like motorcycle safety)

Sorry to all those with a motorcycle I have offended- and all you morons(Sometimes I think I am so funny!)

Glad that the pastor was compassionate and understanding.  Good for you for speaking up.

Hi Sarah...not sure if you wanted to be reminded of this...but I was just wondering how things were going (this whole post really has stuck out in my mind because it was just so not what you would expect...if you know what I mean).
