Just a vent really... Marisa got her MMR shot one week ago tonight. We also
started weaning her off her Pepcid the next day (per doctor, slowly bringing down dose). The last few days she's been REALLY cranky and having some wet burps and chewing her arm and not sleeping as well - so DH and I were racking our brains - is the Pepcid the problem, shots, getting sick... Anyway, this morning while I had her in the bath I checked her mouth and the corner of her top right eye tooth is through! The poor girl... I thought the molars would come first - but I guess not... I'm thinking lots of Motrin and Hylands the next few days/weeks... ------------- Karen, Mom to Marisa (8-11-05), off Pepcid and on organic whole milk! |

Good idea Ann Marie - we had gone down from 1ml BID to .8 BID but will go

Oh no, poor girl! Does she have her other 8 teeth out?? Matthew has 7 and is starting on molars.... seems like the 8th one will come after teh molars, which the ped thinks it is strange!!! ------------- Thais Matthew 8/8/05, NG tube; Gtube since 6/06, 30mg Prevacid, Periactin William 11/6/07 |

Nope - she has 6 incisors - 4 top and 2 bottom - thought the other two
bottom and molars would come first - but nope! Motrin helped some this morning but not enough... And this rain is making it impossible to go out for a long walk which always helps distract her. Thanks guys - the combination of Motrin and Humphrey's Teething Tablets
helped a lot. Everywhere by me was out of Hyland's and the pharmacist at CVS recommended the Humphrey's instead - said they've been around longer and she thinks works better and no lactose. Poor Marisa! I hope she is feeling better soon! Isaac was actually ok about his eye teeth (even though he was horrible with every other tooth) and he now has 16 teeth! Poor Marisa! At least you know what the problem is now. Sarah, I can't believe that Isaac now has 16 teeth!!!! WOW! Thais, Hailey also only has 7 teeth, and I too think it's wierd. She has 4 on the top, 3 on the bottom. The oddball 7th one came through about a month ago, and still no others in sight. Another wierd thing is that her teeth don't seem to come out in pairs, and that they're really small (maybe short is a better word, the width is normal). ------------- LORI, mom to: Sarah-09/03-My sweet princess. So not only is poor Marisa working on eye teeth (top right one through) but

Myles is cutting molars, too. We went through two weeks of ear infection misery, and the molars. It's so sad - Marisa keeps grabbing her mouth and her ears because of the

I know, I feel awful about it too. I just hate teething. And it seems to take FOREVER. I was so lucky with Liza because she had 18 teeth by about 15 months. She just got one after another after another, so it was all over with quickly. I'm starting to wonder what's up with Hailey's teeth! She's 15.5 months and only had 7 teeth. And she's had the 7th for over 1.5 months now with no signs of the 8th in sight... It is so sad! My whole perception of sweet babies has been skewed this past year. It really is a year or 2 of pain with gas, reflux, teething, ear infections. Poor babies! I'm glad you mentioned the teething tablets, I am running to cvs to buy some, as usual Ryann is doing the same thing as Marissa, cutting eye teeth. Seem's like it is taking forever! Ryann is grabbing at her ears alot lately, I know she doesn't have an ear infection- it never occurred to me that it could be related to teething! Lori - it's probably not that anything is wrong - she's just a slow/late
teether. I think most kids teethe in pairs, but not all. Does your Ped say anything about it? Christine - that's crazy how fast Liza got her teeth - wish Marisa was that way! Sarah - I know what you mean. Whenever someone sees me pushing Marisa in her stroller or something and comments on how babies have it so easy I want to smack them!
