Dr. Ann Kessel
ROANOKE VIRGINIA
Dr. Michael Hart, works for Carilion Clinic
http://www.carilionclinic.org/pediatrics/pediatric-gastroenterology
From another poster:
‘Dr. Hart was wonderful! He’s extremely pro breastfeeding and sent me to a dietitian to help keep him nursing for as long as possible, instead of just tossing neocate at us. He was a firm believer in probiotics, and the leaky gut syndrome. He wasn’t afraid to use the meds agressively to treat ds’ reflux, and always listened to his patients before making snap judgements.
I do know he did a study regarding leaky gut syndrome and autism, but as time and life has distanced me, I’ve not had a chance to search for it and read it.”hellbennt2013-04-05 17:27:02

this is laura, Moderator, adding to this post- the following is from Anne (https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=1135&FID=37)
south bay area His name is Eric McCloud and we’ve been very happy with him. He was open to using zegerid for my oldest child when he’d never heard of it before and was open to upping the dosage and doing three doses of meds with my younger when he’d never heard of THAT before. I got all that info from http://marci-kids.com/ and here, infantreflux.org.
He performed an endoscopy and ph probe test on my son, about 4 and 1/2 years ago. I think he works out of both Torrance Memorial Medical Center (very close to his office) and Long Beach Memorial, which is where our procedures were done.Anyways, he’s easy going, not brisk at all. In fact, very relaxed and spends a lot of time with patients. We used to have Memorial Healthcare IPA insurance and he was okay on that, now we have a ppi and still choose to see him with both our refluxers. His office phone number is 310-325-1229, and his nurse/phone answering/secretary is Patty, she’s very nice. You can even mention that you heard of them from Lucas and Norah’s mom, Anne, and she’ll know who you are talking about. We’ve been going there almost five years now [added November 2009!!]. Good luck!

This is laura, Moderator adding this from Andymaan from page twelve (12):
We met Dr. Vargas at UCLA children’s hospital Westwood California (2nd Opinion). He has been on-staff for 30+ years, took time out of his busy schedule to listen to our story and discuss our “plan of attack”. We were impressed that he read the 30 page document we provided ahead of time (non breathing episodes and the mediations she was on).
We agreed that a new set of tests should be administered, but were concerned about removing the medication. Given our daughters history, we felt that she should be admited for observation while the meds wore off. The Dr. agreed. During our hospitalization, we found the nursing staff to be wonderfull. Everyone we dealt with had read her file and was aware of our situation (no need to repeat our experience over and over again).
They administered a PH prob w/impedance, a more advanced version of the standard prob. The motility study was much easier to go through and was painless for our little girl. After 2+ years of extremely high dosages of Reglan, Zegerid, Ped Erythromycin, we are now med free and she has grown out of her condition.
We are very grateful to UCLA for there great care and understanding and for listening to our concerns.

San Diego CAThis is laura, Moderator adding this from genalynne from page twelve (12):San Diego, CA: Dr. Farnes (resident pediatrician at UCSD Pediatrics on Frost St).Pros: He was supportive of us dosing according to Marci kids recommendations, using Caracream max and ultimately compounding meds ourselves w Tums once Caracream was no longer available. He tried to identify other options to make easier for us (e.g. Prevacid solutabs) and wanted to refer our little one to GI specialist when her sx were difficult to manage and causing significant feeding problems.Cons: this group practice has many different individual physicians who are all VERY different. Since he is a resident, his decions got vetoed by attendings (e.g. No referral). And he is only there once a week. Others in the practice diagnosed her incorrectly with colic amongst other things and downplayed the GERD, despite the fact that we had to fight every moment to get our girl to eat at all and she was obviously is pain/spitting up blood and rapidly losing percentiles in terms of growth. Most of you know the deal. Anyhow, we honestly aren’t thrilled by the situation even now, but it’s workable. We are trying to find a better option ourselves, though I haven’t seen any recommendations for physicians in our area.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roseville CAThis is laura, Moderator adding this from karenz from this post:We were in Roseville, CA, and saw Dr. Sorgea, a pediatrician. She was very supportive of us and started with Prevacid right away, vs. trying other types.

Dr. Mohammed Yaseen (Only Ped GI in this area)
Was extremely helpful during early visits before I found this site. Supported trying different things (re-positioning, thickening formula with cereal, medications, etc.) before jumping in and doing testing. He really seemed to care and didn’t think I was crazy! Would not prescribe above 15 mgs of Prevacid to Hailey but she also never had any testing done by him.

Ped GI: Dr. Elisabeth Hait, Children’s Hospital, Boston, MA. Dr. Hait was so helpful in explaining what was probably going on (prematurity, antibiotics in NICU, feeding tube, etc), we instantly felt at ease with her. She has been following our LO for almost 2 months now and we are pleased. She has great bedside manner and helps put anxious parents at ease. This is not a doctor but a compounding Pharmacy:
America’s Compounding Center 153 California Street Newton, MA
Our GI specifically recommended this place for our Prilosec and so far we have not seen a drop off in efficacy.hellbennt2011-12-02 17:41:50October 20, 2005 at 1:23 am #136AnonymousInactiveGod’s gift to GERD parents:

Emma sees Dr. Kendall Brown @ Medical City. Dr. Tom Renard was her surgeon, and he is great too.

I’ve never met a more “pro-parent” doctor, he just empathizes with GERD parents so much. Well… I will contain my adoration…. lol

matthewmama wrote: Dr Nanci Pittman – she is at Mount Sinai in NYC. She is GREAT. She is not that good at answering phone calls etc but once you see her, her office will fit you in if you need to see her + she put Matthew on the correct dose of Prilosec/Prevacid to start with…. so that is worth something!
