Dylan is 6 yrs. old and has turned out ok, but is starting with the typical kid tantrums……hopefully he will sooner or later grow out of them……but as a teacher I do not see that anytime soon.
I was just thinking as I was reading your post……you said that when you put Myles in the pack and play he settled down, right? I have noticed that Rylie at a certain time needs her time to herself. She tantrums just like you described Myles to me. So when she get’s like that what I do is put her up in her room with her typical music in the background and at times she screams and other times she plays by herself in bed…….then all of a sudden it is quiet and she has fallen asleep. I really think that at times our little ones are over stimulated and just needs time to themselves…..do you know what I mean?
I am not trying to tell you what to do, but if you want to, you can try this out with him and see what happens. Sometimes, I take her up to her room, turn off the lightexcept the night light, turn on the music and hold her while I rock a little. She usually tells me when she is ready to be put down……not literally, but she arches her back and that is my cue to put her to bed. It maybe nto so successful at first because I have been doing this with her since she was born, but after a while he may get use to it and may like it.
I hope this helps? Let me know?
