Ok, so it looks like my original post is missing but I’d like to give an update on my 9 month old daughter (8 months adjusted age).
We’ve had LOTS of feeding issues since she was born and about a month ago, we started seeing a pediatric chiropractor as a last resort. I didn’t know what to expect and didn’t want to get too hopeful. We were not one of those success stories I’ve heard like, “We had our first adjustment and my baby’s reflux is cured!” But after a month now of adjustments (12 in total so far out of 20 adjustment plan), she is a lot better!!! The Dr. said that it might take 3 weeks to a month to see improvement and it might get worse before it gets better. That’s pretty much what happened but now she barely spits up anymore when she used to multiple times per feeding.
I’m a first time mom so I don’t know if it’s just her age and she’d be “growing out” of the reflux now even if we didn’t go to a chiropractor. She kind of seems like a new baby overall in development. She can FINALLY sit up own (she would just arch back and grunt before). She can wave, dance, and play pat a cake on cue, all within the last 5 days! She is sleeping like a crazy woman too (not every night but more so than ever)! She is at 12 hours right now as I’m typing this and watching her in the baby monitor…I’m actually wondering if I should wake her! 🙂
Yes we still have issues…she still won’t take the bottle after a burp (we need to take breaks and I think a lot of it is a learned behavior), solids can still be a struggle at times. She is only taking purees and will sometimes still vomit them up. But OVERALL we are seeing improvement.
I’m sure once I click ‘Post New Topic’ everything will explode in my face but at least I had a good week with her. 🙂

So glad! What meds helped? Any? Diet? I know others want to hear it all, lol!
I also brought my baby to a chiropractor. In his case, I don’t think it was as obvious a help as in yours, but it certainly did not hurt
Please share your doctors, too. People are DESPERATE when they find this site. Even if you don’t have rave reviews.
Thank you for the update!

As for her diet, she’s still on Nutramigen with a few purees mixed in…but that’s still pretty hit or miss.
She isn’t on any meds right now. We’ve tried Prevacid at her worst but her gag reflex was soooooo strong that it became impossible to give it to her. She would just puke it all up immediately after. Then we tried Zantac which can be mixed with her bottles. She was it on for a few weeks with ZERO improvement and that’s when I decided to take her off (still don’t know if that was a good idea).
We’ve been to a speech pathologist to help with hypersensitive gag reflex and bottle aversion. The gag exercises might have helped to lessen it…or it was just her age (she was around 6.5 months).
We had strings pulled for us to get a much sooner appt for a feeding clinic which I cancelled because I thought she was getting better. (I’m still beating myself up for that decision because it turned out, she had a good few days and then it ended.) We have a high deductible insurance policy and seeing a whole team of specialists would have been in the thousands. I couldn’t justify at that point since I thought I was seeing slow improvement, but I was wrong. 🙁 That’s when I went back deeper into my depression. It was hard living with the regret.
Then I asked I continued to Google reflux endlessly, I came across a few posts about chiropractors. I thought I’d give it try because it at least it was SOMETHING to be positive about. I searched online for a pediatric chiro in area and found good reviews about Dr. Katie Sleigh in Arlington Heights, IL. She’s been getting adjusted since May 15. At first it was 3 times a week, now 2 times and soon just once with 20 in total. Then we’re done!
Again, I have no idea if that’s what helped her or not but it didn’t hurt her. To me it was worth it and I’d do it again. I’d answer any questions about it if people are still curious.
Again, she’s not a perfect eater now….but SOOOOO much better!!!!!
