Baby is crying from the reflux, Im crying cause Im stressed and my older son is crying cause mummy (me) is a b§tch from being so tired and cranky.

I dread every bottle cause it just kills him. I lay him down for 5 mins to have a shower and he’s red from screaming by the time Im finished. I dont want to go out of the house cause I dread other people looking at us with him screaming. There’s nothing to eat in the house cause I wont go food shopping.

I know you posted this a last week, I hope things are better for you now. I wanted to share with you my biggest support systems and who gets me through the day. My husband #1 is the most easy going person I know and can take over when I feel like I can’t do it anymore. Usually I go in the bathroom, shut the door, and read my Kindle 🙂 Second, my 2 other sons keep me sane. Is there something you can do with your older son to help you find some happiness? Is there anyone you can leave your little one with so just the 2 of you can spend some time together? Also, I have learned that taking a screaming baby in public can be a good thing, usually you find a mother who empathises with you or has been in your shoes. I went to a pool party and 4 different women took my son and gave me a break. I even took my 2 older boys to the park today so they can get out of the house and play. My baby screamed for a great deal of that and you know…I didn’t care! 🙂 Hang in there, I hope you can find the support system you need.

When you are the primary caregiver of such a high need baby,it is easy to burn out. When every bottle is a struggle and baby never seems happy even the most positive person starts to feel like the world is caving in on them. Just know you are not alone and that is not your fault. With my first, I constantly questioned my own parenting skills being that I had nothing else to compare my experience with other than the other happy and healthy babies I saw around. When you pass this obstacle with your baby, you will be more prepared to handle the other struggles that life brings. As for right now, is there any other family member that can take over for an hour or two at least on the weekends so that you can have some time alone to recharge your batteries or spend some special time with your older boy? Do not be ashamed to ask for help with your lo or with groceries (have someone bring you a few things) because this is anything but an ordinary time in your life. Secondly, maybe it’s time to reevaluate your baby’s med and/or diet? Please tell us the specifics of your baby’s situation so that we can help you! Hang in there mama! You are doing an awesome job doing the most challenging job there is! Hugs to you!

i know this is from 2011. but it feels good to hear that other moms have the same issues as mine. AND that they have breakdowns too. haha. Did things get any better?

Hey, yes things did improve once I got him onto zoton. I live in Belgium but from Ireland and here in Belgium their very slow to medicate children with reflux. Also the Meds I got for Koen were only available in Ireland.

Once he was properly medicated he was a dream baby and wouldn’t even know he had reflux. It took him till he was 8 months old to come of all Meds. He’s now a very happy active 20 moPnth old Boy.
