Riley has really enjoyed his Leap Pad.  It is really easy for him to use.  And the books are available with the characters that he loves so much:  Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine, Jay Jay the Jet Plane, Dora the Explorer and others.  He has gotten interested in the concept of reading from using his Leap Pad.  The pad encourages the children to touch the pen to the words on the page.  The backpack is a must have for taking the Leap Pad on the go.  It holds 3 books and cartridges.

A must have for your Preschooler's game collection!  Riley and Garrett love this game.  Fabric butterflies shoot out of the elephant's nose and players have to catch as many of them in their nets as they can.  The drawback to this game is that once the butterflies are out, you have to turn off the machine and put the butterflies back in.  Would have been great if you could leave the machine running and keep putting butterflies in.  Also, sometimes the butterflies would get stuck and you'd have to shake them out.  But as long as you have the time to add the butterflies over and over, your kids should love it.

Riley's Daddy would kill me for putting this in here, but they had this on display at our local toy store and Riley thought it was so cool.  You can buy all kinds of animal families and rooms of furniture.  He played with it and pitched a fit when I told him it was time to go!

Riley got this basketball hoop for his 2nd birthday, but played with it more the closer he got to age 3.  It is made well and adjusts to several heights.  It is pretty sturdy.  We had another goal that kept tipping over every time you'd throw the ball into the net.  This one has not tipped over while on the driveway.

What little boy doesn't like diggers?!  Riley absolutely loves to get his dumptruck and diggers out in the yard and dig up the bark in our planting areas!  And this version even comes with a hat and two digging tools.  What else could a little boy ask for?  He also loves his Front Loader.  He uses it to dig up the dirt and then dumps it into the dumptruck.  He could spend hours out in the yard with only these two toys and some dirt (if I would let him)!

Riley is 3 1/2 and is really starting to get into the Matchbox/Hot Wheel cars.  He is getting a set similar to this for Christmas.

What's not to love about Play Doh??  Riley has really gotten into Play Doh.  Somehow we have managed to keep that a special treat for Grandma's house!  There is even a George Foreman Play Doh grill.  How cool is that?

The boys have this couch at Grandma's house.  They love to sit in it and watch their videos.

Riley sleeps in a Bob The Builder Ready Bed at his Oma and Papa's house.  It's great because they can easily inflate it and deflate it.  And it's so low to the ground, no worries about falls.

Riley is a total puzzle fanatic!  He is also obsessed with trains.  So this was a perfect match!  It is great for learning the alphabet and what letter words start with.  Just make sure you have a space where your child can put the entire train together in one piece.  When put together, it is several feet long!

At 3 1/2, Riley is starting to get into board games.  He has Chutes and Ladders and Candyland at Oma and Papa's house.  I'm not sure he plays by the rules quite yet, but it is an activity that he looks forward to when he's at their house.

Riley and Garrett are each getting a Doodle Pro for Christmas.  Riley has always loved his travel size MagnaDoodle.

This year we are entering the age of action figures.  I am so anti-Power Rangers and not really crazy about the standard superheroes either ( Batman, SpiderMan, etc. ).  I found the Rescue Heroes line and everything I have read leaves me comfortable with this series.  Riley is getting 3 figures for Christmas.  We bought the DVD movie as well, which I read is great and the whole family will enjoy.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Riley is getting this for Christmas.  His Daddy picked it out.  Kacey is an interactive robot that teaches your child various skills.  You can buy cartridges for it in different categories like science and foreign language.

The boys love this toy!  Riley got it for his 3rd birthday this year.  It is tricky to set up and get going, so they need mom and dad's help, but once it's running, it's great!  It's mesmerizing to watch the trains move around the track and move the balls from place to place.  It does have small parts that could cause a choking hazard, so be careful of that.  We have to watch them closely if Garrett is around.  There is another set called the Big Big Loader Set that connects to this one.  You also need a good-sized table to set it up on.

NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 3!

  Don't forget the batteries!

The boys have this at their Granddaddy's house.  They love it!  They love getting inside and wriggling around in all the balls.  There is a trap door on the top that you can fill up with balls and then the kids can open the door from the inside and all the balls fall.  They think that's a hoot.  You just need a place to store it blown up, as my husband almost passed out several times blowing it up with his mouth!
