Hey everybody, I thought that you might want to know that we have just put up a brand new PPI dosing calculator on our website (http://www.marci-kids.com). It can be found on our PPI Dosing Page. Just select your child’s PPI, age and weight, and it will tell you the dosage of PPI that the MARCI-Kids team would recommend for your child! We created this in an effort to simplify the process of figuring out the appropriate dose from the chart on the PPI dosing page.
Please keep in mind that dosing with PPIs is not an exact science. The dose recommended by the calculator can be rounded to the nearest available dosage form for the PPI that you are using, and your child may need a higher dose than even what is recommended there (or he/she may be ok on a little lower dose as well). This is simply designed to be a starting place on getting the right dose of PPI for your child. PPIs are extremely safe drugs that only work on the acid producing cells in the stomach lining, so you do not need to worry about overdosing or side-effects.
