Hi everyone,
I haven’t posted for a while because I thought Jack was finally going to turn a corner with sleep etc., reflux seemed to be improving. Well, he has had a nasty summer virus the past 4 days complete with 105 fever, food refusal and of course as all mothers know with sick babies, terrible nights. Tonight his fever finally broke, and was starting to act happy again. I thought tonight I can finally get a little sleep…
Well, it was just like before we started the Prevacid, complete with screaming, arching, choking and nothing I could do to soothe him or help him go to sleep. It has to be out of control reflux again or esophagitis. So I gave him Zantac and mylanta supreme and 2 hours of shrieking later, he let me nurse him to calm down and finally fell asleep. Can 4 days of no effect or little effect of Prevacid cause this?? I know he hasn’t been getting full meals to activate the drug, and has been so off his schedule due to the virus. I just hope this was a one night thing, because I don’t think I can take much more of this!
He hasn’t slept through the night yet, but he was starting to be able to put himself back to sleep, and had a routine to go to sleep on his own. AHHH, anyone have advice? I am having a hard time not giving in to my own self-pity. I know he is acting this way for a reason, it is just so hard.
I see you’re breastfeeding..maybe you ate something he was allergic too. Something ‘hidden’. That can lasts days on end. I am expiericing that right now
. except I think it was the baby food with tomato paste/onion powder that I was trialing with Aiyana. It really sux.Just hang in there, that’s all we can do. I hope your baby feels better.
