black blood? in stool

i thought we were doing great – erin’s been on nutramigrn for over a week due to a suspected mspi. after 4 days we had a new baby. her only symptoms had been silent reflux symptoms that didn’t improve much with prevacid – but 4 days after starting the hypo formula, she stopped crying all day long. it’s been great. today i noticed two black pea sized areas in her dirty diaper. she’s never had bloody stools before but the pedi said any color stool is ik except black and red. i saved a sample to take tomorrow. what could be the cause? she was acting fussier than normal last night. she appears fine today – eating like normal, etc. i haven’t asked for a referral to see the gi b/c things were going ok. should i get one now? pjcheck2006-8-27 10:56:22
