InactiveAbby has been on Neocate for 1 week now and I have noticed some improvement. One thing I have noticed is that there is a film on the inside of the bottles and the tubes (Dr. Brown bottles) that go down the middle even after they come out of the dishwasher. I thought maybe it was soap not getting rised out so I started washing the inside parts and then boiling them. Even then some of them still have it. I can wipe it out with my finger. I have noticed when she finishes a bottle their is a powdery looking film on the inside of the bottle. Is this the Neocate? Has anyone else had this problem? I tried to get Abby to use an Advent bottle b/c they have less parts but she couldn’t figure out the larger nipple.

InactiveMy son uses Neocate and his Dr. Brown bottles look terrible. I have tried the dishwasher & it doesn’t seem to work either. I tried just soaking them (parts & all) in a bowl with hot soapy water & then cleaning them & you can get some of it off but not everything. I have a problem with the circle part & I still use the little brush that came with & still can not get everything off of them. It has to be the Neocate because they did not look like this when he was on RTF Alumentium.
Hang in there with the Neocate, my son improved a little at first but it took a long time to see a huge improvement.

InactiveSeveral people have posted in the past about the film that neocate leaves behind. Sorry, I don’t remember if anyone posted any great ideas for dealing with it.

InactiveWhen Colt was on Neocate we would soak his bottles in baking soda and hot water and then rinse them and then was them like we normaly do. It does help but make sure you rinse them after the baking soda.

Inactivei so remember this problem!!! i had lots of dr brown bottles to clean for the boys.
i’d soak the bottles with dawn dishwashing soap, then use a bottle brush to scrub the inside, then run through the dishwasher.
tedious, but it was the only thing i could get to get rid of the film- for the most part. September 7, 2006 at 2:51 pm #13091Anonymous
