we had an appt with the gi to discuss hannah’s progress to date. we spoke of all of her signs of reflux and the doc acknowlegded that it could be sandifers however she wont change her meds until she has a barium swallow. she feels hannah is not a clear cut reflux kid b/c she had gross bleeding from her rectum. and, b/c hannah chokes and coughs she wants to make sure the anatomy is okay. but in the meantime, although hannah is very pleasant during the day, she still arches and flails after feedings, had horrible gas, is a fussy eater, and is still super congested. it is super frustrating to me and my husband. i am at a loss as to what i should do! and , oh yeah, she is still not sleeping more than 3-4 hours at night in a row.

I’m so sorry things are so hard right now and no one seems to be listening to you. I’ve sure been there. The tests the GI is ordering sound like a good idea given Hannah’s problems, but I understand not wanting to wait when she is so uncomfortable. When are her tests sceduled?

How old is Hannah? What meds is she on? What formula? (If you put all of that in your signature it will help us to better answer your questions and maybe give some helpful advice. Go to SETTINGS, then EDIT PROFILE).

Have you read all the “stickied” information in the Introduce Yourself section. There’s lots of valuable information there.

Also, http://www.marci-kids.com is a great resource for information about reflux and meds for reflux.

Great!

I think she’d probably do better on a PPI medication like Zegerid or Prevacid. Many of us have found H2 Blockers like Zantac and Axid to be quite useless in treating acid reflux in infants.
