I know many of you have used things like mylanta, flax seed oil, aloe vera juice, etc. to give to your babies before they get a bottle or sip cup to help burps come up. I was just wondering if any of you have used flax seed oil in the bottle and if it helped with babies who have silent flux and hold down their burps which stop feedings. I am dealing with a nursed baby so I am thinking of putting the oil inside solids given at lunch to “lubricate” the esophagas. Any other things that were natural work well? All this mylanta Cherry supreme kind of worries me and like others on here my ped won’t go to 30 mg prevacid until Grant reaches 20 lbs. He’s 16.6 now. Thanks for your advice!

I’ve been giving Myles Flax Oil since he was 5 months old (to help with consitpation). I can’t say that it helps with burping, though.

Myles was very difficult to burp. What did work for us was to give him some Mylicon drops before each feeding. I’m 90% sure it helped. There were still times I had a hard time burping him, but it was less frequent with the drops.
