My DD is on .9 3xday. Is this sufficient??? Our pedi is very conservative regarding things so I was curious if she’s being overly conservative about this. For now the dose is working, but if she startes to outgrow it, which she always does, I’d like to know the range. Thanks! And if you could post the formula they use to figure it out that would be even better!!!

I’m pretty sure the Zantac dosing information is in Laura’s intro (stickied in the introduce yourself forum), and/or in the other stickied thread in the Medicine forum.

Zantac dosage is 5 to 10 mg. per kg. It sounds like she is geting around 40.5mgs. How much does she weigh?

She’s 12 1/2 pounds…it sounds like I’m in the range then? Am I understanding the formula correctly?

12.5 pounds is about 5.7 kg, so her dosage range would be 28.5 mg to 57 mg. You need to look at the mg/ml info on her zantac bottle. Alex’s is mixed 15 mg/ml. If yours is the same then she is getting 2.7 ml per day which would be 40.5 mg, which would be right in the middle of her range.
