My 8 week old son, Ben has trouble sleeping, especially during the day for his naptimes. He will often only sleep for 30 minutes. I have read that this is often a sleep stage thing and most babies just cry for a few minutes and go back to sleep. However, we have his bed at an incline, so he often ends up at the end of the bed or even upside down. This, of course, doesn’t help his congestion in the morning, so we are considering the Tucker Sling. However, I just wondered if it is really worth the money. I can’t imagine having to strap him into it after I have finally rocked him long enough to get him to sleep. I already have to tip toe out of the room, so manipulating him to get him into the sling seems like an impossibility. Do the babies just get used to it? Do they like it?

hi,

i have to tell you that personally the thing was a joke for us! he would have nothing to do with it, and sometimes i would put him on it once he was passes out in the middle of the night, and he would still toss and turn all night, so i am not even sure if it works or not. and if he did wake up while on it, he would freak out.. it takes a while to strap them to it and by that time they are usually awake.

and my son does the same thing with the 30 minute naps! i was beginning to feel like its just him, and something that he does.. i know that that is the end of a phase in the sleep cycle before it goes back into a heavy one.. and he just doesnt seem to make it through… i am not sure why..i personally think the reflux wakes him once he enters the light stage of sleep…

anyhow if you would like to try our tuckersling, all you would have to do it pay for shipping.. and i’d be glad to let you have it… we never really used it. soo, after all that said, haha do u still want to try it?

Hi Naomi,
We’re using something similar (called a danny sling) that we got from another mom on here. It has been SO great. We had the same problem – Bryce would just slide down the incline at night. I always had to reposition him all night. What I do, is just leave it open, then when he’s ready for bed, just lay him on top of it then strap it around him. They can sleep on there back, tummy or either side with it – so that’s nice.
