OMG Read this!! Sleeping in car seats

When we left the NICU they showed us how to make a neck roll with those disposable cloths in order to keep this from happening to Carter. I think they did it with Dylan as well. It actually went behind his shoulders to keep his head tilted back and keep him from doing that chin to chest thing. It is pretty scary……

Hi Shelby,

I’ll do my best, but I’m not always so good at the explaining thing. We would take those disposable burp cloths from the NICU so I suppose you could use maybe a washcloth. We would just roll them into a roll and put them behind Carter’s shoulders, not his neck. This would push is shoulders forward enough for his head to fall backwards, but not too far backwards, as the same thing can happen if their head falls too far back. this pushing forward of his shoulders would be enough to keep his chin from going to his chest. I am not sure if this makes sense or not.

Hope this helps!
