InactiveThese are so nasty!!! Brianna won’t take them (this from the girl to takes the peppermint Zantac without batting an eye!). Are there any alternatives?

InactiveThey are nasty
and Eliana and Myles initially refused them (Liza would eat or drink anything as a baby!). I got Ellie and Myles used to it by just giving them a drop for the first week or two and then gradually increasing the amount until they were taking a full dropper. Myles now shrieks until I give him his vitamins in the morning because he knows it’s part of his morning routine!
He doesn’t mind the taste at all anymore.December 22, 2006 at 8:48 pm #20917Anonymous
Inactiveyep the poly-vi-sol tastes like utter crap, I tried giving it to Austin when he was one and he threw up!!! but he weighed so much that his doc said I could give him 1/2 a flinstones.

InactiveThe one I bought said to mix it in a drink….not sure if it works that way yet but it is worth a try! Good Luck!

InactiveClaire hate Polyvisol, but she would take Tri-Vi-Sol just fine. Are these an option for you? They don’t taste nearly as bad, and you can get them either with or without iron.

InactiveOur pediatrician recommends babies who are exclusively breastfed start them at 2 months! I haven’t given them to Ben yet because I just don’t want to try to put something else down that kid’s throat. We gave them to Claire pretty early on too.

InactiveBrianna was on Tri-Vi-Sol at 2 months and then a prescription vitamin with floride at 6 months (she was BF only, hence the prescription). Now that she is drinking more water she doesn’t need the floride. Tri-Vi-Sol tastes great but for some reason my ped wanted her on the other.
Jill, Thank you so much for the Flinstone idea…I asked my ped and she said that was fine…what a difference!!!!!

Inactiveawww yw, I’m glad the ped said it was ok, Austin still takes his flinstones, I like them b/c they have Choline in them, ok that and b/c they taste like sweetarts (which is why ours are seriously hidden). I haven’t started Aidan on vitamins yet, I wonder if I should? He still drinks formula (he started drinking it again as soon as I started leaving out the ONE OUNCE of milk I was mixing in it) in the early morning and at night-about 16 oz or so, sometimes a bit more.
I know he should be off of it, but I think it’s fine to keep him on it a little while longer, just until the end of next month.
