InactiveHAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! (thought I’d throw that in!)
Did everyone survive the holidays? It was such a stressful weekend trying to get from place to place but I can finally sit back and take a deep breath because it’s over! I hate to be like that, but we did so much traveling that I’m just glad to be HOME! Thankfully Sarah was absolutely wonderful everywhere we went and ALL of my family finally got to see the HAPPY Sarah! YAY!!!

I’ve read a few tid bits here and there about the holiday chaos from people, but thought I’d start a post to share funny stories, complain, and hear all about your holidays! Hope it was a good one!

InactiveAnother CUTE pic of Sarah – I swear she just gets cuter and cuter!!
Lots of miles, lots of food (no more turkey PLEASE!!!!), lots of laughs – that about sums it up. My parents caused a bit too much stress but to try to sum all of that up would take me all night to type up
. I guess it goes back to my famous saying (at least it is famous in my family) “it sucks watching your parents get old”. Where are the fairly polished, tactful parents I used to have? It is just so frustrating. Oh well, the girls had fun and they stayed healthy throughout the entire weekend which was a relief. Happy New Year everyone!!

InactiveMy in laws just left today after being here 9 days!!!! It’s so nice to have the house to myself again. The best part of today is that dh is back to work.
Christmas was great except for him and his infantile, insensitive, uncaring, mean, selfish way of treating me like
. I wish he’d go back home and live with his mommy. I know, TMI, but I have no one else to talk to. I made the mistake of confiding to my best friend how lously dh treats me and now her husband won’t let her come over here anymore, so I won’t ever make that mistake again.Anyway, on the bright side the children were all healthy (other than minor colds) and they had a great time. Ate a little too much sugar, but what kid doesn’t at Christmas time? Myles even had his first cookie and screamed bloody murder for more.

I’m glad to hear Sarah was so happy and everyone got to see her in good spirits.

InactiveWell I must admit I feel sorry for everyone else. We were lucky in that we didn’t go anywhere. We stayed home and had no vistors. Inlaws don’t like my husband ( he’s the black sheep of his family) and my mom spent the day alone with my dad. The boys drove down to say Merry Christmas to their Grandma and Grandpa. My dad is so sick that he didn’t want any vistors and he gets so tired so easy we thought we would just stay home. My mom brought down all their gifts the night before. I am verry happy to start a new year.

InactiveWe had a good, fairly uneventful Christmas. The boys had a lot of fun. I just need someone to tell me how I’m supposed to fit 2 birthdays and 3 boys’ Christmas worth of toys in one small bedroom that’s already packed.
I cannot wait until we can buy our own -bigger- house.
I think I’m definitely going to have to get rid of some of their older toys. Amy, so glad to hear Sarah had a fun 1st Christmas and that everyone’s done with traveling and relatives.

Christine, feel free to vent away! That’s what we’re all here for, & it’s always nice to have someone to talk to.

InactiveWe had a very nice Christmas. Our drive up to Massachusetts only took 10 hours and we only had to stop once to feed Alex. Both girls slept almost the whole way. (We drove overnight). Coming back, we made the mistake of driving mostly during the day. The return trip took 14 hours, but both girls handled it really well, so no complaining.
Both girls were spoiled horribly by all of the attention that they got and they’ve been sleeping a bunch since we got back. I think that they are still recovering from all that excitement. This is the first Christmas where Kaelyn has truly seemed to understand everything that is going on, so it’s been so much fun to watch her.
I now have a whole new appreciation for those of you that face skepticism, comments, and advice from people about dealing with your child’s reflux. In the grand scheme of things, we’ve been fairly lucky in that regard. I had “colic” as a baby, so my parents totally get what we went through. Dh’s mom was present at two of Kaelyn’s choking and turning blue incidents, so she’s alway been supportive. However, my mom passed away soon after Kaelyn was born, and my dad has recently remarried. His new wife made several comments during our visit about how much we must have grown as parents since Kaelyn was born since we are doing so much better at preventing “colic” in Alex than we did with Kaelyn. What!?!? She also questioned whether either of the girls should be on meds and questioned reflux in general. I was ready to hit her by the time the visit was over. I thought that I was being overly sensitive, but dh brought it up on the drive home and said that it had been making him crazy as well. He never lets anything bother him, so it must have been bad for him to notice!
Fortunately, I don’t have to deal with her often. I just now feel even more badly for those of you that have to deal with this sort of ridiculous nonsense on a regular basis.
