I haven’t been on or posted in quite a while..My son Sebastian will be 2 on Thursday and I used to post and read lots of info here…Thanks alot everyone…you guys saved my sanity!

Anyhow, Sebastian has been SOOOO Much better since he turned 1 or so, but he still breaks out in rash when he eats certain things…I keep him away from dairy, but sometimes still breaks out…with foods with no dairy.-So confusing! We did Allergy testing at 1 year and found nothing!!! I know, sometimes it doesn’t come out but I couldn’t believe it! He breaks out so easily! (Also did Barium testing at 8 months old and they said that he did not have reflux although he threw up 10x every time he ate!)

They want to test him again, I don’t know if I want to put him through that again…or the allergy dr. said to “give him milk and see what happens”…I was like…WHAT!

Laura maybe you or someone else can help me…

What type of allergy testing did they do? The blood testing or the pink prick.

If it was the pin prick, I heard someone posting that they were able to use EMLA cream to numb the skin first so that they couldn’t feel it. Can’t remember who said it, or if it was even on this site. But if so, it might be something to ask to your doc. It’s lydocaine I believe.

They told us to use it on Hailey before she got her IV inserted for her ear tube surgery.

You know my Ped GI told me the same thing when we were starting Brianna on milk…just try and see what happens. Most of the research I have done has said that with intolerances…allergy testing isn’t very accurate and the best test is trial and error. I think if you do it in a very controlled manor that is best. We waited until Brianna wasn’t teething or sick or any other variable that could confuse us. We started super slow…first a bit of butter, then yogurt and cheese. we stayed with just those few for a month until we tried the plain milk. Good luck! Keep us posted.
