InactiveThanks for all the well wishes!! Now, to further complicate things, she is getting her other top tooth and her other bottom tooth, making the grand total 4. She was somewhat more crabby tonight but I think it is probably the teeth (hopefully
) I just read so much into every little cry that is “different” than what I “think” is normal for her. Who am I kidding – there is absolutely nothing NORMAL about reflux and kids
. Kayla also threw up at daycare today but so far, hasn’t done it at home (last time was 1:45 so hopefully things are looking up and it was something she ate and nothing Abby will get.Anyway, will keep you posted

InactiveWe are also trying to d/c the meds, dropping the morning dose and leaving
only the evening. We dropped the afternoon dose a few weeks ago, but
didn’t change the total miligrams per day, and that went fine. I’m having
such a hard time, considering teething (ds still has none, but the bottom two
are just sitting there, gleaming under the gumline, and making us miserable)
and introducing new foods (we just started wheat, and I’m paranoid that he
had a hive tonight on his face). He just woke up after only an hour, and I
have no idea what to attribute it to. My mind just starts reeling and trying to
guess what it might be, and thinking does he still need the meds, or could
he be allergic to wheat and if so do I need to do the ellim. diet again? (please
no!). In addition to the pain it causes Dominic, I hate the mind games and
second guessing that goes along with reflux!

InactiveSarah:
I think we can second guess ourselves to death with this whole reflux thing. Drives a person CRAZY!!!!!
Well, today will be day 6 without the afternoon dose and so far (keeping fingers crossed) so good. She got two teeth over the weekend and all things considered, things went pretty well. A little more crabby and a couple of brief night wakings, but nothing horriffically bad. The last two nights, she has slept from 7:00 until I had to wake her at 6:15 without so much as a wimper all night. She has had a few crabby periods during the day but I really feel it was due to her teeth because as soon as she got Motrin or teething gel, it seemed to greatly improve. I am totally freaking out about the thought of taking away the morning dose starting on Thursday – maybe I’ll wait until after her birthday on Friday and the party on Saturday (would hate to have a crabby Abby
). Oh well, hope it continues to go well – thanks for the thoughts and well wishes!!

InactiveI am so excited things are going well!!
That’s great! I’ve been wondering how it’s been going! I understand wanting to wait until after her birthday to drop the dose again. I got weird about changing anything with Sarah around the holidays and with events coming up! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

InactiveThat’s funny, we call Abby “Crazy Abby” all the time (when she isn’t her alter ego “Crabby Abby”. These poor kids and their nicknames. We also have Crabigail, Abiwail, Abidoo – you name it, she has probably been called it

InactiveI am soooooo excited for you!
Being off all meds. Yippie!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope for you that will happen. I wish you could know how excited I am for you. Let me just send you a hug.
I hope you will still be able to stop by the boards now and again even after she is doing perfect off all meds. I know I would miss you and I’m sure the other ladies would too.February 1, 2007 at 8:56 am #23692Anonymous
InactiveThanks Shelby – there is absolutely nothing that could tear me away from this board. I have formed so many “friendships” that I would miss hearing updates on how everyone is doing and helping out any new people that I can. It’s just strange, but I miss the board when I don’t have a chance to come on it. Thank God for work – that is about the only time I have to see what’s up
. I think I will wait until Sunday to take away the morning dose. She has a cold/cough now (yippee) so hopefully that will be better by then.
Keeping fingers crossed…………
