InactiveAddy loves tv! She too knows how to turn it on and off…the surge protector thing is a great idea!
And FREE TV! Wow! I love it way too much I think!

InactiveFree TV? WOW!!!
We also have Tivo (well the canadian version) and I’m quite an addict about it.
Natalia, did you say that you watched barney until 6TH GRADE???!!! I don’t mind the Barney show, but we have some of the cd’s for the car, and I can’t stand his voice on some of the older ones! We took Sarah to see Barney Live two years back and she loved it, but the Wiggles show was much better.
Yes, I can’t say that I care much for their outfits either. Why do they call it a skivvy? (whatever that is.) They could stand to be a bit looser.
Sarah was never much of a TV watcher, but Hailey was exposed much younger because of Sarah. Also, she was such a crabby baby that I’d do anything just to get her to sit there and be quiet. Now she does watch TV alongside Sarah, but mostly just runs around playing.
christine- about Harry potter, do you guys have a show there, or are you talking about the adult movies? It’s great that she’s not scared of them. Sarah’s scared of care bears!

InactiveMy kids are scared of everything. Even Dragon tails gives them nightmares.
I have to screen everything they watch or they wake up screaming at night. They haven’t seen Care Bears, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they found something in that show to be scared of too.I love TiVo too.
I don’t know how I survived without it for so long.

InactiveYes, I’m so spoiled by TIVO that I want one for the upstairs TV too! When I finally get my not-so-fun roomate (aka Hailey) out of my space and into her own room, I plan to reward myself with TIVO for our bedroom! I can’t wait to reclaim my upstairs TV! I hate watching TV with dh… he always picks the most obscure dated movie to watch, or some kind of ultimate fighting, or the military channel for some reason! And then he proceeds to crunch through a whole big bag of Miss Vickies chips while I’m trying to listen on volume 1 so as not to wake up the kids!!! (And the worst part is that he eats junk nonstop which only tempts me, and then doesn’t gain a pound!!)

ha ha! I’m so glad to hear you say that. Mary was so fussy, and videos were the only thing that soothed her. Her crankiness, combined with the fact that we were confined indoors for the first year of her life, are what led to her being exposed to tv so soon.

Inactivelori—-it is the regular harry potter movies that sylvia watches—–i assume that is what you mean by the adult movies—–right now “the goblet of fire” is on.
samantha’s favorite show when she was little was “the mummy”.

InactiveThat’s really cool Christine. It’s funny how kids are so different. I think with Sarah, I’m probably going to be in for a lot of fears in the years to come. I keep holding my breath, dreading when she starts to say she’s scared of the dark!
