My pedi, or I guess I should say ex-pedi gave me a sample of axid to give in between the prevacid.
On the box she wrote 1/2 cc PO QD
I have no idea what that means.
Also, what is the dosing for axid?? He weighs about 10 pounds, maybe a bit more. 1/2 cc seems low, but these days I am so tired of trying to play dr- does anyone have info on this??
Adriana was on Axid at first. The bottle says 15mg’s and to give 1.5 ml’s twice a day. I don’t know if that helps at all. Oh and she was 2 months old at the time.Adriana’s mommy2007-2-28 21:54:55
If I’m remembering correctly from nursing school many moons ago, PO means by mouth, and QD means every day. So he wants you to give him 1/2 cc, once per day. Doesn’t sound like much, but hopefully with the 30 mgs of Prevacid he won’t need the Axid anyway. Make sure you give Axid several hours apart from the Prevacid. They counteract eachother.
