hi all

Just a quick intro . I am Nat I live in the UK with dh , dd 3.5 month and ds 18 mo. dd is a refluxer since birth, the puking type and after a series of trials and erros is now on prevacid solutabs (here its called zoton) 15 mg twice a day (30 mg in total). she is vomiting a lot but is much less in pain now.

I was told that giving the med with caracream may help as it will act directly instead of delayed release . I have samples of caracream .

Can I give it with solutabs? and also how do you dose it? I have a bottle of caracream powder, one of thersol??

I am not sure, but have you tried reading Laura’s newbie introduction (it is stickied in the introduce yourself forum). I think nataliachick uses it, so maybe she can answer. Or you could try e-mailing Dr. Phillips (I think he is the maker of that stuff) He is super nice and always answers e-mails. His address is PhillipsJO@health.missouri.edu

Caracream cannot be used with the solutabs. I asked Joel (who used to work for http://www.marci-kids.com ) when Myles was on them.

I second Christine. You can’t use solu-tabs with caracream. You need capsules. As far a dosage goes its best to email doctor Phillips with your babies age and weight and then he will email you back on how to give it. I am not sure if caracream helps with vomitting. There are several people on here that use it so maybe they will chime in. Sorry not much help.

We use CaraCream, which does make it easier as far as not having to time with meals. As others have said, you need the capsules. Call Reflux Solutions directly, or email Dr. Phillips wrt to how to prepare it. They will have to give you instructions on how to prepare the proper dosage. Also, if these are old samples, check the expiration date as they do expire. Good luck.

thanks for your help. I will stick with the solutabs for th etime being and may switch if its too inconvenient to time around meals or I feel its not very effective

Hi Nat and welcome…i kind of replied to you other post. Its called Zoton here in Aus as well…kind of prompts me to think of star trek or something!
