Naomi,
Wow….you’re a real trooper for doing the diet this long!! I agree with the other woman who said to do things one at a time. It’s a royal pain in the #$* but it could potentially help you SO MUCH. I guess I’m one of those rare folks who had the kiddo that was so “rare” and we needed to be careful with the diet issues. He is incredibly sensitive and multiple protein intolerant. Before he was 18 mos old however, I had no idea he was gluten/wheat intolerant and if I had done the Dr. Sears version of the TED I might have had a lot less misery. I was impatient countless times and he’s been exposed and has reacted badly countless times so I’ve learned my lesson the hard way. And he has ALWAYS reacted badly. What’s the saying, slow and steady wins the race? It’s hard but your palate is clean right now, so to speak, so if you can hang on a little longer and slowly reintroduce you’ll potentially spend less time on the diet in the long run and will be a better scientist/investigator (cause that’s what you are right now) and will be able to better interpret your “data” as things unfold. Have patience….I fully understand your frustration and mouth watering (your story was hilarious!) so I can speak from experience as I was on some form of elimination for nearly two years.
I have a list of foods in the “TED recipes” section of dairy/soy/gluten free things that actually includes a lot of yummy foods, you might want to check it out….
Hang in there!!!
