Axid and Prevacid

Logan has been taking Axid .6 2x per day for almost 2weeks. He has had some relief. My ped has agree to put him on Prevacid but only at 7.5mg per day. She is willing to give higher doses, but won’t until she is sure this lower dose won’t work.

Here are my questions. How long does it take for prevacid to start to kick in? (He’s been given delayed release solutabs). Can I give axid the same day or should I use mylanta instead? I know my ped would probably tell me just to give the prevacid and he would be fine but I would really like to know from the real “experts” who are living through this.
