InactiveWell the biopsy came back and it showed his intestines are inflammed. He has such a hard time with foods and such I feel so bad. We have changed his prevacid to the solutabs. And Ive been giving him Mylanta. It seemed to be ok for a bit but now he is having trouble again. He is just miserable. What did you guys do after getting results that the intenstines were inflammed?

InactiveWell we have gone back and forth a little bit with him. But currently he is just eating barley cereal mixed with neocate and a little bit of fruits (either prunes or pears) Hes been eating that about 2-3 times a day along with bottles in between.

InactiveMany babies with MFPI are unable to tolerate grains. Reidun has problems with rice. Oatmeal was a disaster. Perhaps you should try cutting out all grains? I heard from one mother, that her child’s allergist said for babies with MFPI grains should not be introduced until a year of age.

InactiveSorry to hear about that. I don’t have any experience with that. Hopefully someone can help you.

InactiveJust wanted to clarify…
When you say MFPI, you mean multiple food protein intolerance as opposed to MSPI (milk/soy protein intolerance) right?

InactiveYes, and oops…I was thinking I was posting replies in the MSPI section. Have any intolerances/allergies been diagnosed?

InactiveJust to clarify, when I say Reidun is “MFPI to dairy, soy, eggs, & nuts,” I mean through breastmilk. I have not tried to give any of these foods directly to her.

InactiveIve looked at that table before. We really have tried everything. It seems he will do ok with certain things for a couple days to a week and then he just gets horrible again. We think he is doing good and then it goes down hill again. He is not losing weight or anything he is steady and a very good size boy..but he is really hungry and just formula wont work. Actually when he is just on neocate he really doesnt do that well either. Im strongly considering trying goats milk..Ive been told this can work wonders–but Im so afraid, people have been telling me since he was 2 weeks old to try goats milk but Im just afraid to. He is irritable on the neocate but isnt unbearable–still not normal and still difficult to deal with but doesnt he deserve betteR? Why should he have to be in pain all the time?

InactiveHave you tried DCing the barley and all other grains? Doing a rotation diet? I attached a link to a rotation diet I’m working on with Reidun.

Goats milk? People have also suggested that with me, I’ve been too afraid to try it as well.
Good luck and (((((HUGS)))))!!
