InactiveDoes anybody have any great stain removers? I never dried any of Kayleigh’s baby shirts because I didn’t want any puke stains. I used dreft stain remover and I always thought I did a good job. I packed up her baby stuff and pulled it out yesterday to send to my sister and wow I couldn’t believe how many “puke” stains there were.
They are just yellow and gross! I know when I packed them up I didn’t see them. I will say though seeing those stains brought back a “flood” of memories. Ok sorry inadvance for the bad pun
Thanks!March 27, 2007 at 1:59 pm #28685Anonymous
InactiveSometimes when you pack away white clothing which appears to be clean and stain free, you’ll find yellow stains on them when you unpack them months later. I read once that it has to do with some kind of chemical reaction that ocurrs. Is it just white shirts that have these yellow stains?
I’ve never figured out how to remove these yellow stains, and I’m pretty good at stain removal.
I’ll be interested in seeing if anyone here knows the answer. For now I’d try spraying them with a generuos amount of stain remover (I like Shout the best) and then soaking them in some water with a little bleach, then washing them in cold or warm water. Don’t use hot water until you are sure the stains are gone because hot water will set the stain if it isn’t already. I gets lots of stains out this way, but the yellow ones from storing clothes don’t always come out.
Good luck! Did your sister have a baby?

InactiveThanks Christine I wondered if it was some sort of reaction. I have Shout and multiple others so I will try your suggestions. They are on a lot of white items but also the pink ones. I aways thought I did a good job so my stain fighting ego was blown when I saw this

No she hasn’t had a baby but she’s trying and she has a 5 bedroom 3 story house compared to my 3 bedroom double wide so she gets to store them for now!

InactiveThanks for starting this. We’ve used oxy clean with mixed results… quite good for organic stains, but not “daycare” stains. I can’t find anything to get paint stains out from daycare. It’s supposed to be washable, ya right!
Any suggestions?March 28, 2007 at 2:59 am #28779Anonymous
InactiveI’ve used Dawn dishwashing liquid for “washable” paints. Rubbed it in and then used a fingernail or other scrubbing tool to try and release the trapped paint, then let it sit for awhile prior to washing. Good Luck

InactiveThis is so random, but when Brianna was first born, she had this terrible poop that got all over her changing table cover. My MIL told me that she saw on the Today show that using Jet Dry got stains out of EVERYTHING….well wouldn’t you know, it did work for us…maybe it is worth a try???

InactiveJet Dry? Like the kind for dishwashers or is there another type? I’m game to try it all! Thanks!
