i was just wondering if reflux has anything to do w/ when you should start your baby on solids?? could more problems w/ the reflux pop up when you start feeding them food before theyre ready??

I think the answer is a mixed one…some babies reflux flairs up a bit on solids in general or some types of solids…and other babies don’t. Some bubs have other intolerances apart from their reflux which makes it all harder.

My personal experience is that Alana’s reflux wasn’t overly affected by solids. But we still didn’t start until after 6 months which is the reccommended time now for bubs.

I have read on this forum that other bubs have had more troubles with reflux and solids…but I don’t think there is a way to predict. Some babies with reflux have really strong gag reflexes which also complicates things.

My babies reflux problems started occuring after we started solids. The ped

I was with at the time (have since left her) really pushed me to start as soon

as he was 14lbs which was 4 mos old for him. I do not know if it was

because we started solids so soon,but I will wait until 6 mos if we ever have

another child.
