I feel your pain!!!

We had such an impossible time getting Hailey’s meds into her that I was ready to pull my hair out! No matter what we did, it was a battle that usually ended with the meds vomitted all over the floor. It never did get better for her, but she’s a difficult case, because we were also dealing with oral/feeding aversions. We had to mix it in with a bit of formula, bottle feed that, and then give her the rest of her regular formula in another bottle. We did it that way until recently. Good luck. Persistence generally is enough for it to get better for most babes.

Oh ya, about the spitting up. We were told that if they keep an immediate release PPI down for 15-20 minutes, then they’ve likely gotten the med to work already. If they vomit, you’ll still see medication in the stomach, but that’s likely the other stuff in there, and probably the medication part has already been absorbed.

Naomi, that’s just what the pharmacist and ped GI said. But I figured it made sense, sice apparently an immediate release PPI takes about 15 minutes to work.
