InactiveI was just wondering about these questions:
1) what are good sun blocks and insect repelants to use on Ariella?
2)where can I purchase those cute umbrella’s that you can attach to the stroller so that she can stay in the shade instead of hot sun?
3)Does wearing a summer hat reduce/prevent sun/heat stroke?

InactiveHi!
We LOVE the Aveeno Baby sunblock. We used it all the time on Addy last summer and since her skin is so sensitive, Aveeno Baby are the only products we use on her.

InactiveI don’t know if they still have it but http://www.onestepahead.com used to sell a stroller umbrella. I bought one a few years ago for Liza and it worked quite well.
Yes, I think hats are very helpful. Try to get hats that have a wide brim to protect the face from the sun and choose lighter colors (white is best) to reflect the sun.
For Sunblock I like Baby Banana Boat.

InactiveOh, as for bug spray…I have no idea.
I use the Family Off with Deet because supposedly Deet is the only most proven mosquito repellant out there, but I am a nervous wreck about it. I wonder if there’s anything more natural that actaully works. I am going to research it today. I remember reading about some natural mosquito repellants that you can make yourself…..if I find it I’ll post it for you.April 23, 2007 at 1:22 pm #31232Anonymous
InactiveHere’s are some all natural mosquito repellants. I may try one of them. I hate putting Deet on my children.

InactiveAs for sunscreen, we used coppertone baby and ombrelle, but I wasn’t fussy, just looking for broad spectrum high level coverage.
I am also paranoid about mosquito repellant, and have tried to avoid this by not going into mosquitoed areas with the kids. But now we’ve been forced to go camping with dh’s family this summer (long story- but we’re staying at a nearby resort d/t Hailey’s issues and fear of tents), but still I’m paranoid about West Nile Virus and then the fact that Hailey still sucks her fingers so sunscreen is probably not that safe.
I LOVE the sunveil line of clothing and plan on investing in some of it for the kids. It’s both sun screen and bug resistant. Expensive, but worth it, IMO.
