InactiveWell, we are in a similar boat, but with Ben it is 5:30 – 6:00, like clockwork! It doesn’t matter what time he goes to bed, if he’s sick, or anything else, he is always awake and raring to go at that time. It’s been like that since he started sleeping through the night at 11 months. It wouldn’t be so bad if I wasn’t already up a couple times in the night with Paige….morning just comes way too early!

InactiveAddy went through this phase off and on for a few months!!! I know what you mean, it was WAY too early for us! I started going to bed when she did so that I could get enough rest at night. But as most things do, this past and now she wakes between 7 and 7:30. But it was around 10 or 11 months when we went through this. I hope it passes for you too but I have no advice on how to get it to. She finally just started sleeping longer.
Good luck!!!

InactiveMyles was up every day between 4:00 and 5:00 am until he was 13 months old. It was horrible but nothing I did changed it so I just accepted it. I used to just give him his nuk and most mornings he’d be awake for an hour and then go back to sleep for a little while. Around 13 months he started stretching it to 5:00 or 5:30 am and now finally he sleeps until 6:00 or 6:30 most mornings and I give him his nuk and he stays in bed until 7:30.

InactiveAriella’s gotten into the habit of waking up anywhere between 2-4 am. And won’t go to sleep for a couple of hours. DH and I are walking around like zombies b/c we need to be at work early in the morning. Sorry no advice but you’re definitely not alone.

InactiveLauren, I laughed out loud when you said your monitor broke! I know how much you love it!
I hope you can replace it soon! I don’t have an answer…but Sarah’s wake up time is absolutely NO LATER than 7. It also makes NO difference what time I put her to bed…she’ll be up by 7. I’m thankful it’s not 5
…but she does the same thing. I hope that his routine will adjust soon and he’ll be on a more mommy friendly schedule. Sounds to me like an age thing! Good luck!April 28, 2007 at 9:33 am #31671Anonymous

InactiveI think Brianna went through a stage the same as that for a while, but fortunatly for us, if I left her there she would usually go back to sleep until 6:30 at least. What DH and I did is this. We picked a time we felt was reasonable for her to stay in her crib until (7am for us). When she would wake we started letting her stay there until she fussed. Then after a few days of that we would let her fuss for ten min…and gradually we increased the time (she learned to wait longer before fussing) until we were not getting her until 7am. (we never let her sit there and bawl…if she was that upset we got her). Now she is a champ. When she wakes up early she may play for even an hour or so, but she will go back to sleep and if she doesn’t she doesn’t cry. Somedays she even sleeps in until 8am! But the average is 7-7:15.

Inactivebetween 6 and 6.30 for us
. Used to be 7.00. Don’t know where that extra time went. Have a mind of their own don’t they. I usually go and get her and we have a 30min cuddle before I get up….maybe thats why she won’t sleep in any more!!!

InactiveYou could be in luck that it’s the ears though too….
Owen had an ear infection, and the only reason that I figured it out was that he had been sleeping 8-6, but when he got an ear infection, it turned into 5:15, 5, 4:30 and I was so upset, I took him to the doc and when they asked why he needed to be seen, I said because he wasn’t sleeping!
I’m sure the nurse thought that was a funny one!Anyway, got him on meds and 2 days later he was back to 6 or 6:30, he’s young and small for his age, so I do expect some of the early morning feeds yet.
Hope it is the ears for you, if not he’ll hopefully grow out of it soon! My first son (now three) slept 12 hours from 8 weeks on! He was like a clock down at 7 up at 7! Still a wonderful sleeper thank goodness! Anyway, Owen had other ideas about how our house should run!

InactiveHi there! I am having my coffee by 6 most mornings as my Sofie (7 mos)
usually wakes up at 5 or 5:30, and I too let her do her own thing until 6
when I go in to her. What I understand is that she has an “advanced sleep
cycle”, where she goes to bed too early (by our standards anyway) and wakes
up too early as a result. Granted she sleeps for 11 hours, so I can’t complain
too much, but the early wake up call is brutal! The way to fix it is in Ferber’s
book-Solve your child’s sleep problems……..each day push the whole
schedule, including naps, feeds, etc 15 min. later, so baby’s bedtime gets
later, ideally leading to a later wake up. We are trying to do this now and are
having “two steps forward, one back” but it does seem to work when the
stars are aligned in our favor, ha ha. Anyhow, hope this helps, and good
luck. At least there is coffee….sigh. Kelley

InactiveJustice also wakes at 4 or 5 every morning. i go get him and bring him to bed with me and feed him and fall back to sleep until about 6 or 7. I was hopeing it was something he would outgrow. Oh no, he just woke up. He has had a fever all day. UGH! I’m afraid it’s not going to be a good night.

InactiveSorry about that silly post. What I was trying to say is, Justice wakes at 4 or 5 every morning. Like you all have said it is like clockwork. It doesn’t matter what time he goes to bed, he wakes at 4 or 5. He’s not ready for the day though. I kind of just thought he was hungry. The whole time I was doing sleep training with him I could not get him to go back to sleep at that time without nursing him. I really thought he would just outgrow it and maybe he will, but for now I’m not ready to fight it. He is doing so good now. He goes to bed between 7 and 8 and doesn’t wake until 4 or 5 and then goes back to sleep until 6 or 7. What is it about 5? His room is darkened so it’s not the light. Do you think maybe they are hungry at the time after going all night long?
