InactiveI know you are all right, I should really just lay off and it will come! It is just that one day when you just want everything to happen instantly and you lose it, well that was the day!

Anyway, Griffin was able to dress everything but the socks yesterday with dad home….. Suddenly he had no problem…… Yes, dad holds much more authority in this house even though I’m the one who is home with him more! I know it’s common, I just wish I could have some of that respect!!

Anyway, this is the first battle I have really had with him, potty training was a breeze, he was day trained before he was 2 and is a good eater and goes to bed without us fighting that so I guess I have been spoiled to this point! I’ll probably just lay off for awhile.
One of my friends said that when her doc told her son he had to get rid of diapers and dress himself that things suddenly improved, so maybe I’ll try that the next time we are in the office!!

Thanks for all the advice!!!

InactiveWow! He sounds like a very good little boy.
You’re probably right that he’s been so easy about other things, that he’s probably chosen this issue to butt heads with you on, and that letting it go for a while will probably help. The doctor idea works wonders for my girls. Often times I’ll ask her to tell them things like; they can only have sugar on special occassions, or that three yr. olds should be able to do this or that, etc and it’s amazing the impact that has on them. They seem to respect her and trust her so much.

InactiveI wish I had some advice but I have resorted to letting Seth sleep in whatever shirt he will be wearing the next day because I was so fed up trying to dress a Tasmanian devil every morning!
I have also starting buying clothes with things or characters that he likes and really play up getting to wear a basketball shirt, etc. which helps some. It is crazy though. I swear I always feel like I have put in a day’s work before we even leave the house just trying to get him ready!

InactiveWe make it into a game. Alexis sees if she can dress herself before I manage to wrestle Taylor to put clothes on her. She loves it and the funny thing is it does a long time but most of the time she wins, since it is horrible trying to get Taylor dressed! She twists, turns, rolls, kicks, and crawls away, if I manage to get her pants on she crawls away before they are completely up and then they just come right off etc!!! It also really helps that she does pick out her own clothes so she is much happier putting them on vs what Mommy wants her to wear!
