InactiveQuinn is sick again. She woke up this morning with a diaper rash, green boogies, a whine and a fever of 103. Right now we are alternating Tylenol and Ibuprofen which helps a lot. She has not had a fever while on those meds, but once the meds stop working, her fever shoots right back up there. It’s horrible.
She needs prayers because as we all know.. Quinn’s sicknesses have a tendancy of turning into hospital stays and trips to the E.R. I hate seeing her so sick. She just puts her head on me and lays on the floor a lot. It started this morning… so tomorrow I expect for it to get worse and then if it’s not better by the next day, I will be taking her back in to the pedi if her temp does not get higher than 105… then they just say to bring her to the ER. Hopefully she does not get seriously dehydrated. That’s what lands her in the hospital… but she has been drinking lots of fluids, so that’s good… still sometimes even with fluids, that just does not matter… which is what happened in March. She was still drinking her milk… but man, she sure was so dehydrated that they had to get two doctors and a rotation of 7 nurses and two lab techs over a period of 4 hours to find a vein. Eventually they found one in her head. Go figure! Then she was admitted.
So all I’m asking is for some prayers. And thank you for that!

InactiveWell, Quinn woke up this morning with a low fever. I thought she was on the mend. She was acting normal and stuff, but she just wouldn’t eat much at all. She only drank 3 ounces of juice. She took a nap this afternooon and slept for five hours. She woke up with a temp of 104.3. So then we put some ibuprofen into her body and her temp went back down. But it shoots up each time the meds run out. I’m thankful the tylenol and ibuprofen are working, though. i decided that first thing in the morning, I will take her to the pedi, just cuz she’s had a temp for three days and because she hasn’t peed in five hours. I fear dehydration. She woke up poopy from her nap, changed her and she was dry when I put her to bed… she hadn’t peed for a while. Her eyes are dark and sunken in and her face is pale. So… i’m scared of dehydration. Other wise, she is acting somewhat normal. Of course she is laying around more and not playing as much and she is obviously not feeling well, but she’s not lethargic or blue.
I think I know why she got sick. That whole bottle thing trying to put her to bed without it… it’s been working. She hasn’t been crying for the bottle at night, but she refuses to drink it during the day. I’ve been lucky to get 2 ounces of peptamin junior into her every two days without the bottle. I knew she was dropping some weight.. it looked like it to me. She was getting sick alot before she was put on it and I really think we are back to the drawing board. I’ve been contemplating on giving GI a call. We’ll see what the doctor says tomorrow.
Thanks for your prayers. I hope everyone is well!

InactiveCouldn’t you let her drink the bottle before bed and then brush her teeth before you lay her down? That’s what I do with Myles. He didn’t like it much when I first started doing it but now he knows it’s part of the routine.
I’m sorry that she’s sick again.
I hope she doesn’t lose too much weight. -
