I have a question for those mom whom children are on Neaocate. when i prepared a 5 ounce bottle i actually get a little over 4 ounces. i put 5 scoops, just like it says and then fill up to 5 ounce marking, just like it says, but i only get 4 ounces and a bit. is that what you guys get too? it’s the same with any amounti try to mix, i seem to get an ounce less. i don’t want over load her kidneys with a highly concentrated formula, so i have been watching her pee input closely. anyways i bought a gram scale to try to mix that way (more accurate supposidly), but i just wondering if it is the same results for you.

You should end up with 5 total ounces for 5 scoops. I think after you mix, then add a bit more water to get to the 5 total…..

yeah for that reason i always do water first and then the scoops. bc otherwise i never get the amount that im supposed to.

I always put water in first– I did mix Owen’s at 24 cal for awhile because he was needing to gain weight when we first left the hospital so I don’t think you will overload her if you do mix it stronger.

That recipe was more Neocate less water. I don’t remember the exact ratio.

I used to mix then add enough water to get up to the line again. Then mix again.

I measure out the water in a large meaurement cup and then add the scoops. I usually have to add a little more water after I shake it up to make sure its filled to the correct line.
