InactiveYAY!!!!!! Alexis is also a eating adversion child and she too is will to eat McDonald’s chicken nuggets as well!! I say whatever, it is actually something! As for the Bottle YEAH again, I wouldn’t care I would give her a bottle if she asked until she goes to college if I had to!!! I think Alexis had a bottle until she was almost 2 years old as well, she was willing to drink water out of any cup but milk only out of a bottle. We slowly weaned her to the Nuby sports cup which has a spout bacisically like a nipple. CONGRATS to Hailey and of course MOMMY as well!!!!

InactiveGreat news!!!!! Way to go Hailey! I am really happy for you and Hailey. It sounds like this is the big turning point in her feeding aversion.

Sarah, that would be a miracle. It’s certainly a turning point for her, but I’m sure we still have rough roads ahead with her eating… unfortunately, just like with any kid with a feeding aversion, it seems that the path to success is more hills and valleys then one giant mountain. But liking food is certainly a start, right?
How’s Isaac doing?May 15, 2007 at 10:05 am #33284Anonymous
InactiveIsaac is still not doing so well. They put him on periactin both for allergies and apetite stimulant. He did eat alot but he was so tired all of the time. So now we are back to non eating. The good news is that we have an evaluation at Children’s Hospital OT finally on thursday! Thanks for asking!

InactiveThais, we did cave and start giving the bottles in the morning. It really seemed to be the only way to get liquids into her (or anything into her before noon!)…she’s just not a morning eater/drinker. She’s been waking up and screaming for a bottle, and so I caved and have given it to her. Not sure if that was the right thing to do, but I’m hoping that once she gets used to taking the liquid in the morning then at some point we can wean her to a sippy cup and milk, instead of formula. At this point, nutrition and calories are still an issue. As for the sleep, she’s still waking, but I am enjoying the rest of not having to make the bottle.
I’m glad to hear that Matthew’s doing so well! When do you come home? I think it’s pretty neat how they teach them all the skills. One of the most amazing things to me is that they get them to eat so many different kinds of flavours. How do they deal with likes/dislikes in tastes or cultural issues?
