InactiveSince Cooper was born, my skin has been horrible. I feel like I am a teenager again. Actually it is worse than when I was a teenager. My forehead is all broken out, not that anyone can see, but that I can feel and it is really getting on my nerves and I am having periodic breakouts all over my face. I would think that my horomones would be back to normal (Cooper is 16wks old today), so what is up with my skin? Does anyone have a skincare regimen that they have that has worked postpartum? I am going crazy, I just want my skin back.

InactiveI had lots of skin issues as a teen. We always used Dove soap.
In college, I used that ProActiv stuff. You know the one with Jessica Simpson…. Anyway, used to be pricey, but really cleared things up. It would dry out the pimples without making your whole face look crusty! Some of the things from the dermatologist really dried out my face……

InactivePROACTIV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have used it since 11th grade (and that was in 1997)…so 10 years! I went off of it for 13 months in college to try and save a buck but oh my gosh, my skin was not so pretty…not a lot of pimples but some and just not a pretty complexion. Anyone that I know that has used it, loves it…as do I!

Inactivethere is something at department stores by rodan and fields i believe the name is. these are the two women that created proactive. anyway, their line at marcys is similar proactive, but it is targeted towards the skincare needs of women not teenagers (like proactive is)….they have some different ingredient combinations and sulphur which is really good at fighting acne. here is the link to what i am talking about, its called “unblemish”

InactiveYikes! Thats a lot more expensive than proactiv though!
Well, maybe not since its 60 days compared to 30 days with proactive, I think. I would be scared to change though since proactiv has been so great to me!

InactiveBeth! I’m so glad that you posted this. My skin has been so disgusting too, and I can’t remember it getting this bad when my daughter was born. I just figured it was the stress, which I’m sure doesn’t help much.
My husband has always had skin problems and uses the Proactiv stuff, so I’ve borrowed it sometimes. Unfortunately, it really irritates my skin, for some reason.
My problem are not only the breakouts, but really it’s more the big pore, yucky looking skin.. not sure how else to describe it!

InactiveDon’t know if this is an option but I am on ‘the pill’ and an extra benefit is my skin always looks great.

InactiveThanks ladies,
It sounds like proactive is the overwhelming favorite among everyone. I am back on the pill and have been now for ~2months and my skin isn’t any better than before I went back on it. I know my skin could be worse, but for me it is driving me crazy. I will definately look into the proactive. We are on a tight budget with me not working anymore so the other stuff is just too expensive right now.

InactiveMy skin has been terrible since I was pregnant too. I’ve always had acne problems, and unfortunately ProActiv never really worked for me. The only thing that really worked on my skin was Accutanne, which you CAN NOT take if you are or are thinking about getting pregnant (they make you sign something and you have to be on the pill to be on it). I’ve also been on the pill for a long time, which hasn’t helped either…
SO, if anyone has any other “magic” solutions, I’d like to know too! I”m trying to drink more water, and I started using Aveeno cleanser & moisturizer which is supposed to help get rid of blemishes and even out skin tone, it’s ok, but my skin is still yucky (acne, uneven tone, big pores). I’d be willing to try ProActiv again, or maybe that other Rodan & Fields stuff if it’ll work!

InactiveNot to steal your post, but I have never had skin problems until recently. It comes around the time mr. monthly visits and the bad thing is I am scaring. I am not even picking at them. Justice sees them and picks at them and then I scare. I have no idea what to do about that. Any ideas?

InactiveWell the Proactive arrived last Friday and I can honestly say I can already see a difference. This stuff is great and it is even the time of the month where my friend visits, so this must be good stuff to be working now… Just wanted to give an update.

InactiveThat’s great! I’m seriously considering trying it myself. I’m glad to hear that it seems to be working.
