Well, I am fortunately (I thank God everyday!) not sleep deprived right now, BUT I survived some very serious sleep deprivation due to my reflux babies.
First it was Eliana. She woke up every 20 – 60 minutes all night long, every night of her life from the age of 10 weeks until she finally outgrew her reflux at 9 months. And I took care of her and my older daugher alone. My dh did next to nothing to help me. Not only was I up all night with her but I had to pump breast milk at least twice each night in order to keep my supply up. (She quit nursing at 8 weeks).
Then when Myles was born he was up as most newborns are a few times per night AND Eliana was going through a horrendous period of time with night mares and night terrors. So for the first six months of Myles’ life I was up 6 – 8 times per night between the both of them, and I had to pump breast milk for him too because he refused to nurse, and again, I did this alone with no help from dh.
Anyway, I’m not asking for sympathy (though God knows I deserve it
), I’m just letting you know that I do have sympathy for you, and that these things do pass. One day you’ll be sleeping through the night again. Until then, hang in there and know you’re not alone.
