InactiveI am so upset right now. Maggie was hospitized on Monday. She started down the same path we were on last Friday so our doctor sent us to the ER @ Children’s hospital in Seattle. We were there 15 minutes when they said they had to hospitalize her. We just got home an hour ago. I feel like we left the hospital in the same condition as we entered. Maggie has lost more weight. The hospital did not have Zegerid which Maggie’s peds changed her too on Monday. Do not even get me started about the GI doctor
.I am exhausted right now. I am not sure how to mix the zegerid. Any help would be nice. I know its suppose to be mixed with the 40mg packet of Zegerid with Mylanta Cherry Supreme but just not sure how. I am going on about 8 hours sleep in 5 days

InactiveOh Heidi I am so sorry to hear about Maggie!!! I hope everyone is able to rest and recover quickly.
We have only used the 20mg packets so I have never had to worry about adding mylanta as a buffer. However, I THINK I recall from reading on here that you have to add an equal amount of mylanta to each dose. So after you mix it up for example, if your individual dose mixes up to 4 ml, then you would add 4ml of mylanta to that. Too much mylanta causes diarrhea so some moms have used Tums and the like instead.
Hope that helps. Maybe some 40mg moms will chime in with some more details.
Good luck and I hope your household returns to normal soon!

Inactivethank you.
I am at my wits end with a screaming baby and no sleep. I just called my husband to come home from work because I cannot figure out the medication and I do not want to screw it up. We do not have the mylanta and the drug store did not have any so its good to know. I have tums. We just got it filled today.

InactiveI am so sorry for all you have gone through. I hope your lo gets well soon.
I looked up an e-mail that Dr. Phillips sent me re mixing Zegerid. He said to mix the 40mg pack with 6.5 ml of water in a 20ml syringe. This will make 10ml (4mg/ml). For every 3ml of med(12mg) mix 2ml of Mylanta Cherry Supreme.
Hang in there
