I started Aidan on yo-baby yogurt which is organic whole milk yogurt for babies and toddlers, when he was about 8 months old. It depends on the child though I guess. I didn’t buy it b/c it was organic but b/c it’s made out of whole milk, and some of the flavors have cereal and DHA added. He still eats a TON of it.
Is your child MSPI? I tried yo-baby organic yogurt with Sarah when she was about 8.5 months old. I used it as sort of a dairy trial. She did OK with it, but for whatever reason I stopped giving it to her for a while. Since she has been about a year old, she’s had it everyday for breakfast.
I think some people prefer to wait closer to 9 months before introducing it, but if your child doesn’t have any milk intolerances it might be worth a try?
I waited until 9 months to give my babies any protein type food… yogurt, egg yolks, meats, etc. I’m honestly not sure why it’s recommended you wait until nine months though. I think their systems can just more easily digest those type of things at that age. I know your little one is really close. Good luck whatever you decide!
